Hold'em based table game

I've a good idea for a hold'em based table game that I think would appeal to casinos/card rooms.
I reckon there's a market there for it, what with all those punters who come in to play a tourney then leave straight after busting. Casinos obv don't make any money from these guys, they're not interested in b/j, roulette etc, and the poker based table games are too far removed from hold'em to arouse their interest. The game I have in mind will have a house edge similar to that of roulette and would attract these people I think.

My question is, who should I approach about this, and how do I make money from it? (assuming others agree it's a good idea)

approach Harrah's or MGM Mirage, make money from licensing it to them. You will typically get paid per table per month. Good thing there are no holdem-based table games already, or you'd find it hard to create a niche.

I'm not sure if you're being sarcastic RT (apologies if you're not), but are there hold'em based table games? I've not seen any. My idea seems pretty simple and obvious to me, so I would be a little surprised if it's not been tried, but if it has and failed, I'd be keen to discover that now.

    only about 100 of them.

This page mentions a few of them, including the cadillac of table games, Texas Hold'em Bonus Poker.

A serious piece of advice if you ever have a business idea: first you should research whether something like what you plan already exists. If you are too lazy to do actual research, you could at least google "texas hold'em based table games".

He is always being sarcastic, simple rule of thumb.

As to whether your idea is good, don't worry that there are 100 holdem table games out there already. WhoWantsToBeAMillionaire worked despite there being 10000 quiz shows formats before it.

Regardless of whether they exist or not, my point is there's a market here for them imo. It's just an idea that's been floating in my head for a while, it's not like I've mortgaged the house. In fact, this is the first time I've given it serious thought. I threw this thread up to get opinions, and thank you for yours.

thats true. Im not saying he cant be successful, just that he isn't the first one to have this idea, as he seemed to think, so he'll have to work a lot harder/have a much better idea to have the same success.

Let's say somehow I was able to test it in a Dublin poker room, I can think of one in particular that's ripe for it, and it works well. What do I do from there? I don't think it's patentable, how do I make money from it?

I've worked with the patenting people, and if your idea is a good bit original and a little bit profitable then its patentable.

One club did/does have one, I never saw it used much before I got barred.

That's great to hear. I'll put a decent bit of effort into it so. Thanks.

Yeah you're right, they have a bonus poker game, it gets very little traffic, but they have it kind've hidden in the corner. Although bonus is based on Hold'em, the average guy hasn't a clue how to play it, the idea I have is a lot simpler, therefore would have much greater appeal, I think.

The fitz is the only place in Dublin where you're forced to pass table games on your way out the door, I can't understand why everywhere else just let's customers walk out without trying to squeez a little more out of them. Imo, a simple hold'em based table game running alongside the tournament is an obvious way to do this.
