I'm not superstitious but...for me at least birds are fairly reliable 'omen bringers'
There's the usual magpies of course-a sighting of a pair of these always brings a happy day.
If I'm on my way to a situation that is going to be confrontational crows crossing my path left to right augurs a victory, right to left I lose.
Wood pigeons and ring neck doves are the strangest. The day my marriage broke down (didn't know it was going to at the time) two woodpigeons came out of nowhere in front of my car and exploded (it is the only word for it)
on the grill.I've been single ever since and guess I'll be staying that way as I never see these lovely birds in pairs - they're always alone...
    Anyone else have animal superstitions?:o

No I am not superstitus either and I can understand the link between what some people see between sightings of such creatures and what has or will happen within their lives but I have always woundered if the belief of such superstitions is strong can it not effect your actions in such a manner you can make such outcomes real and if we challenged the supposed outcome can we not change it. I guess I am more of a believer of you make your own fortune in this life but I am not so opposed to maybe these things been taken as more of a warning or a little foresight to a problem but not the outcome.

ive heard it said that birds of prey are connected to superstition.

an eagle flew in the back door of a woman down in kerry that i know and landed on her head, then flew off
thats a good while ago, since then she is very unwell with illness relating to her head region.
