I still don't think Dermo deserved 8 weeks but tbh, I'm glad the suspensions were upheld on appeal. At least this sends out a message to other counties and hopefully we wont see the farce that was the appeals process in previous years.

Yeah it has to be said that so far this year the GAA has been swift and tough handing out suspensions. We've been calling for this for ages so lets hope they keep it up. The real test will come in the championship of course

    Exactly.
Where i do feel perhaps the Dublin and Meath guys were made a bit of an example of (as regards they were the first to be properly disciplined!) the real tester is for the GAA to keep up the action. Quickly processed, and consistent suspensions for anyone acting the mick, noone can have any complaints then, consistent being the key word, everyone knows where they stand then.

Brother, you are a bit wrong in my opinion with regard to the bolded comments. They weren't so swift and tough handing out suspensions to the Cork-Armagh players were they?GAA consistent...my arse.I'm not so sure if anybody saw it but there was a Dublin fan who had a placard in Navan which went along the lines of "Mr President,is there any difference" and it had a picture of the matches in Parnell Park and Crossmaglen. Its another glowing example of how Nicky Brennan is a joke and his replacement looks to be as big a joke.

Steven McDonnell even acknowledges that the events between Armagh and Cork were no different and that the CCCC were too harsh and he also goes on to say about the players coming in to break it up were taken in wrong in the context of getting suspensions.

You can wave goodbye to consistency if we are faced with more melees in the summer. How can any fan believe they would be consistent when they only concentrated on one incident on a particular day and totally ignored the other.Nicky Brennan felt it worthwhile to stick his oar in before the CCCC (a bunch of yes men) made their decisions. If the GAA and CCCC want to consistent or save a bit of face, the Meath players up for appeals should be revoked.

    Rant over.

I doubt the Meath players will have their suspensions revoked tonight. If it were to happen, there would be outcry and rightly so from the Dublin players.

Players from both Teams are looking to mount a Fresh appeal to the CAC

They went in to fight like men (there was intention at least) ...why in Gods name will they not take their punishment like men..

The GAA need to sort this out... one appeal is enough
