while in KL the concorde hotel is a good city centre bet & does'nt cost the earth, there is a hard rock Cafe down stairs 7 is about 10 minutes walk from the night markets in China town (fakes, fakes & more fakes) :rolleyes:.

Agree taxi fares in advance or agree to use meters when travelling in KL. nice city but there are a lot of crazy people out & about, as you would at home take care with cameras swinging bags, snatch theft on motorbikes is a KL speciality.

for Langkawi the Frangipani hotel (or something like that) is nice & right price, i'd recommend hiring a scooter or car to get around the island its cheaps as wedges. Enjoy yerself...
