If your in such dire need I would suggest trying the hotels,bars/restaurants,shops in the shopping centre, any local newsagents or places up in the retail park.
What kind of work have you done in the past,if any?

It depends what experience you have. Most studends will be looking for summer work same as you, and to be in with a good chance you'd need experience. If you let us know what you're looking for perhaps we could point you in the right direction.

Lidl, tell them you are looking for full time, probably dropping out of college, you want to decide over the summer and if you dont you will still be looking to keep the job part time when college restarts, or just tell them you dropped out (everyone says that though)

    they probably will be hiring
they pay better that other supermarkets/pubs etc
they will probably treat you like a dog

would i need to know anything about their products, im presume training will b given...? anyone work there or much info and the work/pay? Cheers

One of my friends works there and I don't think you need to know about their products, all training is given as far as I'm aware.

There will be plenty of part-time work around Sligo this summer.Do you live around the town because places like the Strand Bar in Strandhill seem to hire a fair few staff in Summer because that place is jammers in June,July and August on the sunny days.

Or even, what course are you studying in UCD?.Because it might be possible to get some work placement or part-time work in a business that specialies in that field.

Yes its a McDonalds but funny you mention that.I had heard from someone at work that after KFC found out who was building there, they objected and now its going to be a creche.
    But
    1) Once planning permission is granted,you can't object..right?

2)Why would a creche open up there, its not the best location!

    Thats a good point!

And the reason I say I think it might be a creche is because my friend he works in the Security company who looks after the retail park and he had gotten a letter saying it was going to McDonalds(which I still think it will be) but then he got another letter later on from the bosses saying it was going to be a creche.Hope not though, because I hate going to KFC on my lunch break.
