So you were trolling the NDC?

No it was an experiment. A humourous one. What is trolling anyway?

I think the best way of summing it up is acting the twat and winding people up.

Usually it happens when someone is trying to be humourous

    salt water and carbon

so some salty food bacon should suffice
Some water, if you have a headache its due to your body being dehydrated causing shrinkage around your skull
and finally burnt toast which is carbon rich

As mentioned in the other hangover thread .

Berroca, alkaseltzer and dyurilite (dehydration liquid ) is supposed to be a good quick fix cure .

    My two step process:
    1. Invent a time machine
    2. Go back to last night and don't drink as much

Can be a bit hit and miss, that time I spent in the Cretaceous period was no craic.

Failing that, suck it up bee hatch.

    Methuselah

Does it have to be consensual?

I'd like to thank everyone who has supported me over the years- Mum, Dad, all my friends + family. I would particularly like to thank Fr. D. Fahy who taught me everything i needed to know about non-consensual sex. Thanks everyone.

Surely when you get back to last night you'd realise that if you didn't drink as much you wouldn't have such a hangover and thus wouldn't bother spending all that time inventing the time machine? Which realisation would make you miserable and then you'd end up drinking twice as much, making your hangover worse?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,172 ✭✭✭Don1

Not quite MOH, I think that loop, in which PMan would decide not to drink would result in him not inventing the time machine and as a result he would disappear! :D

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 21,191 ✭✭✭✭Latchy

If we had that time machine we could go back and see us how we wuz before the affects of the deadly alcohol took their toll .

But methinks that might be a boring pointless exercise :D

Or just do the lotto and get extremely rich.

Or just do the lotto and get extremely rich.

I used to dream about that actually , Imagine the possibilitys ? :)

then again could our brain actually handle that much knowledge ? ..... knowing what was going to happen in the world ..the good bad and ugly

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 812 ✭✭✭Dellboy2007

Going fairly off topic but I think it wouldn't matter if you did or could stop something from happening. I think it all balances itself out so if you stopped something from happening it would just happen at a later stage.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,465 ✭✭✭MOH

Possibly a better use of the time machine would be to try the various hangover remedies suggested in this thread, going back to the original hungover state after each, and then you could compare them to find out which was most effective.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 21,191 ✭✭✭✭Latchy

True we cant alter what's already happened .

    * back on topic * ,even our bleeding hangovers :D

Are you mad? Being hungover for one day is enough for me! Jesus you obviously don't get as bad ones i do!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,172 ✭✭✭Don1

For me its a Lucozade, then after that has decided not to make a return topside, a breakfast roll and a pint of milk with it. Nyom. Then some loud music to get rid of the headache, and back on the booze that night!

I'll try it tomorrow. If any of you ever invent a time machine bring it back to this evening, PM me, and I'll meet ye tomorrow to test the cures.

Failing that, I'll be going with the fry-up.

    Any of the following:
    • Meanies (mega of course) with loads of coke
    • A good greasy breakfast roll
    • A good greasy fry, with some salty rashers, sausages, nice buttery toast, or french toast too is quite good.
    • Or if all else fails more beer and go back to bed, and repeat all the above when you wake up again. :D

Sleep in as late as you can then go for a fry up and follow it up with a few pints. Then spend the rest of the day on the couch watching tv/playing playstation.

Alcohol is a diuretic (makes you want to pee) this will rid the body of surplus fluids/water. The more alcohol you drink the more you want to pee.

On top of that the body requires water to process the toxins in your liver & kidneys caused by consuming alcohol, it's a real doubled prong effect. All of this causes the dehydration, making (as someone said) the brain shrink causing the headache. The sickness is caused by the body not being able to handle the extra toxins.

Salt helps the body retain fluids so salty food or dehydrating drinks are good for the headache. Vitamin supplements can also help.

Personally, I generally take a couple of pills and suffer it until the evening, I then have a couple of beers and a nice meal.

I've controlled my hangovers over the past year.
Rarely get a bad one anymore.

No more pints (stomach can't take it, ouch). Just drink spirts and the odd pint. During the night I always try to have a glass or two of water and a few before bed.

Wake up in the morning only feeling tired and drained, but little or no headache or upset stomach.

Although a friend of mine would prescribe "The Hair of the Dog," my Health Ed text says there are no real cures but time... It does say to drink fluids, cause booze drains you.
