    Hi all,

I'll be doing my best man speech tomorrow (yes yes I like to leave things late I know) and am just wondering if there is a certain procedure to it or not.
I am aware that I get up, tap the glass etc. then introduce the father of the bride, let him say his few words, then the father of the groom, then the groom himself afaik, but do I crack a few jokes in between or at the start when I first get everybody's attention or is it just intro's for the others until I get to my speech?
I know there are no hard and fast rules but was just wondering?
I'm obviously still adding the "finishing touches" aka half the bloody speech!!

    Thanks,

    JC

If you are hillariously funny and have good (clean) jokes then yes, crack a joke or two. If you're not (as most people aren't) then don't.

Get up, introduce yourself, welcome everyone, introduce the others and then give your short and sweet speech. There are threads on bestman speeches if you search for them.
