Downloads stopping

Every time I try and download something or stream videos from any website, they'll stop halfway through and not load. It's the same with downloads, they'll just stop for no apparent reason. This only started happening about 2 days ago and it's really starting to piss me off

Any help at all will be appreciated.

By the way, I'm using Firefox.

Obvious question but i have to ask. Do you have a download limit on your connection?

Firefox? And what happens if you use another browser?

If its the same in any browser.. check your ping times... for instance.. pick a site you stream from like youtube and ping it with a -t option and leave it for a litte. see if the responses start timing out or getting very very high.

Same thing with Internet Explorer. I never use that though anyway. I've tried on the other computer and it works grand. There's no download limit as far as i know, we just pay for what we use. I've got 231 GB free. Also, i forgot to mention that I'm on a wireless connection.

then im inclined to go with the above post a say run a ping -t to a site you stream on and see if it times out at all.

You have reached your P0rn download limit for the year!!!!:D:D:D

Ah no seriously though, have you made any changes recently or installed any new software or patches?

Is it a particular website or particular content?

Does it happen with smaller files as well as the larger ones?

Is the wireless connection dropping are you moving around while using it, i.e. upstairs downstairs?

Can you still browse webpages whilst your downloads have stopped?

Do you have a download manager, if so does it let you restaart your downloads from where they have stopped?

    NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :p

Ran a ping and there was no timing out at all, connection is grand. I'm actually on a desktop, but i couldn't find a 30 meter LAN cable to run though the walls to my kitchen downstairs so had to settle for good ol' wireless. I can still load web pages grand. I can't stream content from any website, it usually gets to about 15% and then stops  I installed BitTorrent there 2 days ago but i deleted it this morning to see if it fixed the problem. It didn't. I can pick up downloads where they laft off because of a patch i installed last night. I'd prefer if it just did it in one go though.

What was the patch you installed?
Did you make any changes on the oruter for Bit Torrent?
    What OS are you using?

To fix the issue perhaps a system restore from two days previous, this may resolve the issue but it wont tell you what the problem is.

When you installed bit torrent, for instance if it was bitcomet they ask you to open up your TCP limit. did you make that change? That could account for it.
