Long time reader first time poster.

Not really sure whay I am writing this as I don;t think I can change the outsome of the situation but here goes.

Was at a party sat two weeks ago and met a gut lets call him Mike. Was chatting to mike for ages and kind of like him but nothing happened. Got chatting to another guy, lets say Tom really interesting not to mention gorgeous. After a good hour or so we kissed. We talked for ages loner and he walked me to a taxi. On the way he asked for my number. I gave it. So we met up on thurday and had a really great date. Chatting contstantly, kissing, etc. We talked about everything marraige, kids (In the general sense) music , art everything. we both said we didn't want to leave each other but sure we had to.We arranged to meet again. We were due to go out on Sunday.

Que Sat night. I was going to another party. I knew Mike would be there and was looking forward to seeing if I really liked him. Anyway about 9 I texted Tom and invited him, partly because I wanted to see him and partly because there would be a chance he would be there anyway. So he called at 12.30 to say he was coming. In the mean time I had been talking to mike. We were getting on well. ANyway Tom came well I met him in a bar accross the road and brought him. At this stage I was locked and basically i ended up telling him I had met someone else, can't remember what else I said. I was crying as I said it though (locked, the demon drink). SO he left and I went back to Mike who I very quickly realised I didn't really like. Well he was nice but not Tom. Anyway text Tom and Apologised 3 times on Sunday. Tried to call once. (Possibly this is excessive).

So do you think I will ever hear from Tom again?

At this stage I don't expect to but there is still a little hope.

Tbh, no. You were hedging your bets with the 2 guys and it backfired. If it was me I would be less than impressed.

Also I wouldnt contact him again, but rather chalk it down to experience. If you see him again talk to him by all means, be contrite but dont go on about it. Either way no more texting and calls.

    Quite frankly, you blew it.
You cannot get more direct than "i have met someone else"

Chalk it up to experience i am afraid

You might get a drunken text/call at some stage....but in all probability I'd say it's unlikely. From his point of view, he met a girl he liked, had a great date & next thing he's got same girl crying in a pub and saying she's met someone else. Bit heavy. All you can do is learn from this experience. Crap I know.

Don't feel too bad about it. It sounds like you kind of socialise in the same circles so you'll probably bump into him soon enough.
Not sure if there is any point in you contacting him again but then again what have you got to lose?
Just a thought - does he have a sense of humour? Obviously you were out of order but the story is kind of funny [especially as you were crying as you 'broke the news to him' - hahahahaha] - he could have replied to one of your messages.

Odds not looking good for you to go straight into something with Tom here. If you keep socialising in the same circles, you're bound to keep meeting him. You MIGHT be able to convince him your interested enough to make him realise he has an option but you're better off moving on lass

the problem is ,even with texting and apologising, he'll think its just for sympathy. My advice is to hope you bump into him, remind him that you knew you blew it and made a big mistake. But YOU'LL have to ask him out, theres no way he'll ask again with a rejection like the first one that happened. If he says no forget about it, if he says yes ,then maybe it could be the start to a long healthy relationship.
Of course all this is all easy for me to write down, doing it is a different story.

there's no way of undoing this, because even if you convince him that you didn't mean it. He'll just think you're a headwrecker and a bit of a psycho. And that he had a close escape. I'm sure you don't need to be told how sh!tty what you did was?

Yeah I am well aware that what I did was Sh**ty. Don't normally go around doing stuff like that. How and ever I have to accept the consequences. As one poster said, I hedged my bets and it backfired. Well I guess learn a lesson and move on. Thanks for all the replies.

Shame - sounds like you had a good thing going.

Even if Tom still likes you, all he sees now is instability and insincerity. He will not call I guess. Sorry, if Mike ain't an option, you'll have to hang on for someone else.

Always taking drunken dating/flirting way too seriously.

She'll be talking about some dude and be like "Oh I dont know if I can be bothered with this whole Patrick situation...*sigh*"

And Im like "What whole Patrick situation? He's just a dude you kissed when you were drunk, and maybe texted once afterwards...a torrid volcanic, love affair it aint."

I'd say chalk this one up, and let it be a lesson to you to try and meet guys when your not five sheets to the wind.

Trying to navigate the dark and murky waters of human relationships while half cut is harder than drink driving.

Why the hell would you invite him knowing that mike would be there. Talk about playing games, you were obviously trying to make someone jealous. I really hate people like you. You don't deserve him.

LOL :)))that sounds just like a girl I know - she also says things like "remember when I broke up with Patrick...." and I'm like ''WTF are you on about ?? You kissed him once seven years ago".

Anyway, I dont think the OP sounds like that - give her a break, its not like she was going out with or even knew either of them so she was pretty much free to decide who she preferred. I'm still laughing about her crying to Tom as she broke the news.

OP I doubt he is going to contact you but I'd be surprised if you don't meet him again. When you do don't start apologising - you've done all that. By the sounds of things he was interested in you or at least fancied you - when you both feel that way its usually quite difficult to keep away from each other.
Then again I'm 34, single and live on my own with my dog so I'm probably wrong.
