I'm looking for a stand alone sat receiver that has an rf input so that i can attach an ariel and view RTE,TV3 and FTA channels. its so annoying having to change the input on the tv just to watch RTE on the tv's tuner.

i have seen pc tuner card that do this eg here yet i cant seem to find a stand alone receiver.

im looking to spend around €100 - 150 but if there one out there for more let me know.

    so any suggestions anyone?

    cheers

Just use the scart socket for satellite

    Not at all.

Especially since some countries have turned off Analogue.
The Modulator needs to be different for each area.
    It adds expense.
The quality of picture is poor
    It can't do HD.
    No stereo ever.

    Use a SCART.

Maplin and others have stanalone modulators if you really insist.

If you have a properly wired SCART and put Satellite Receiver to Standby, the TV Tuner should be active.

RTE etc will be digital in most areas by Autumn, so a combo would be Digital only Terrestrial/Satellite (plenty of those).

No you just connect your aerial direct to tv and satellite via scart. Scart is better quality picture and stereo sound, just change channels on your tv.

Sorry watty! (Only meant for it to be info on the gear, not a promotion of the actual online store).

Only realised that this might have been a case of mistaken identity. I really am just a punter who bought a DIY set from Mike's shop. Apologies for any confusion.

Any Idea when Cairn Hill will go digital?
