Recommend me a road bike/hybrid

First time poster in the cyclist forum (hopefully more than that after this )

Basically I'm looking for a road bike/ hybrid - budget is 300 - 350 euro (don't want to spend too much as I'll be one of those sunshine cyclists everyone hates, lol).

Anyway mainly for cycles on warm evenings up and down the roads/ maybe even an odd cycle to work (if I get up early enough!). I mentioned a hybrid also as I am not entirely sure whether I'll be doing trails or not - even though if I could get away with a road bike, the lighter frame and slicker tyres would appeal to me a bit more.

I guess if people could just give me both a hybrid and/or a road bike recommendation up to the 350 euro point, I could test them out from there!

Thought as much - where would be a good place to buy a 2nd hand bike in Sth. Dublin?

Have a look at Chainreaction's website (www.chainreactioncycles.com). For the last while they were selling road bikes reduced from above 500 to 350. I think it's the BeOne Briza 1.0 or 2.0, great value at that price.

anyone ever used a maestro card on chain reaction? (the logo says they accept them on the bottom of the site)

Do they take Irish Maestro (I've heard of issues with international sites having difficulty with Irish maestro before)

Sure give it a go - the worst they can do is say they don't accept it!

I've decided on the BeOne Briza 1.0.

I will try this out somewhere in the next week or so if I can get my hands on one


Should work out at about the 375 mark with a set of pedals
