    Hi folks,

travelling to Orlando with the family on Saturday for a fortnight ( and gaggin' for it at this point ). Treating myself to a set of clubs while I'm there. The prices are ridiculous for clubs compared to the cost here. ( Ping G10 - complete set with bag - there : €836 ( putter not included ). Same set in McGuirks leaves little change from €1500. Will I be liable to pay tax on these coming back ?

Apologies to mods if this is in the wrong section...

The technical answer is yes. In theory you should pass through the red channel on your return and declare your goods, which will be assessed for tax at that point.

This is the case for any goods over a total value of about €175.

In practice few people do declare at customs and take their chances.

That's a serious difference in price.

Perhaps the boys and girls in the Golf forum have experiences to share?

I just had clubs brought back by a mate.
I bought a golf bag and travel bag and had him take clubs out of wrappers etc. so it looked like he was just coming home for a few rounds.
    I used www.tgw.com/main.jsp very reliable
your clubs are priced at $700 - $900 there depending on shafts
