    I thinking of asking total of 160/170 plus maybe 30 afters. The Boss wants about 120 with no afters invites.

    Whats the average size of a wedding in Ireland these days?

    What does it matter? Invite who you want to invite and don't be trying to please people or tick the boxes on 'averages'.

    Any weddings I've been to around Dublin are 120 'ish, go down the country and it becomes 180-200, Doesn't make it right ;)

    Instead of thinking that you have to have a goal of people to invite, just write down everyone you really want there, then people you feel you should invite, then people who would be further down the list. Parents usually want to invite a few of their friends as well.

    We're having about 120. For Donegal it's a small wedding; for Dublin it's considered big. So there are no rules about numbers. I'm sure the two of you could meet in the middle somewhere.

    Way too many, flipping Mother in Law!

    Tried for months to get her to whittle her list down and in the end just gave up and invited them all.

    I hope they're rich! ;)
