    Hi,

Might seem like a silly question.

I plan on digging up an area in the garden at the weekend (approx 10 feet by 8 feet), The plan is to dig down approx 1 and a half feet to "sink" a part of the garden...

Any advice on whether its a big job, how long or how could i do it??

    Thank you

    Its a fairly big job.

I'm assuming you expect no drainage problems.

If you are simply going to pave it it is not too bad - you will just need somewhere to dispose of the earth.

If you want to plant it you will have to dig out the topsoil and put it to one side. Then dig out an additional one and a half feet of subsoil and dispose of it and then put the topsoil back.

    NB 10 X 8 X 1.5 = 120 cubic feet of soil to get rid of.
