    lol ouch

never used outlook express much myself always used its big brother, so going on guess work here, i assume ur linked to ur internet providers mail service or hotmail / gmail etc so all of his emails should in theory be on his hotmail account online , if you go to the control panel and click mail icon and set up a new account this should sort it you'll just have to re-enter the settings for what ever mail account he uses. There might be an option to select what profile to use by default , use the new one you create.

Sorry i cant be more specific as i am not on an windows pc at the moment to check this for you.

First thing that comes to mind for me would be to......

    1. Open Windows Explorer. Locate the Outlook Express store directory (usually by searching for *.DBX). This folder will contain your inbox files, deleted items files, sent items files etc etc.

    2. Move all these files to a temporary directory, somewhere SAFE.

    3. Once they are all moved (which could take a while), start up Outlook Express and it will create a new 'Inbox' file, 'Sent Items' file.. etc etc.

    4. Then go into the Tools > Accounts section and turn OFF the option to "Automatically do a Send/Receive on startup".

    5. Close Outlook Express.

    6. Move your original *.DBX from the Temporary folder, back to the store folder where they were originally.

In theory, you should now be able to start up Outlook Express, it will not send items from the Outbox automatically, and you should then be able to delete the offending email.

It might be worth emptying the 'Deleted Items' folder then, and running the option to 'Compact All Folders' in OE.

[ Another part of you problem is that maybe with such a huge email message, you've now run out of space on the C: drive, so check if you have the necessary free space available. ]

I like your train of thought ;-) That just might work....
