The old man is looking at getting an Audi A8 or A6 3.0 TDI Quattro. Does anyone know when/if the newer 240PS 3.0TDI engine with 406 lb/ft is getting put into the A6 or A8 to replace the current 230PS with 330 lb/ft? I know the Q7 was originally launched with the 230PS 3.0 TDI and was updated to the 240PS engine in late 2007. I'm just wondering how come they didn't put the 240PS upgraded enging into the facelifted A8 which came in late 2007 too?

    Thanks.

Both have the 233 bhp unit anyway with 332 lb ft of torque.

The 240 bhp has 369 lb ft of torque, or 37 lb ft more than the engine found in the A6 and A8.

As for why they didn't put it into the A8, well that's a question I can't answer;)!

I think that you are slightly wrong on that one:eek:... must be a first;)

The 240bhp unit has 369 lb/ft in the new B8 A4 and A5, but has 406 lb/ft in the Q7, it seems very odd that they didn't give the A8 the updated V6 TDI when they gave it a facelift.
