    hi
taking a three night trip to london in may [wed to sat] and after getting a good deal on flights 36euro to stanstad return ,im looking for a hotel not too far out from the center at around the 100 to 150 a night mark
alot of the hotels seem to be on the small side and when looked up on tripadvisor they are grotty and not very nice
so any advise on maybe one of the big hotels chain you know bed ,shower ,well kept ,modern in around central london thats not a two day camel ride into the center .
    thanks

I stayed here for the weekend of the rugby - http://www.cityinn.com/london/ Right beside Westminister and Pimlico Tube Station is 5 min walk away - very clen and well kept - breakfast is expensive as all hotels in London. Would happily recommend it.

South Kensington area, best area in London imo, plenty of restaurants and cafes, hotels nearby, really beautiful area, very close to Knightsbridge and Harrods and Oxford street by tube, very close also to Kensington Gardens, direct tube to Heathrow, the below hotel offers excellent value imo. Great restaurant in hotel, large bar, comfortable but small rooms, perfect for two people. First link is hotel link, second link, main Holiday Inn uk site, I find you can get better deals on the second website.Click on bed and breakfast link and type London and search for hotel, until the Holiday Inn Kensington Forum comes up.

You could check out the "Top Secret" hotels on Lastminute.com. I got a few mid-week days at the Melia White House hotel at an excellent rate last year this way. The hotel was excellent, beside a tube station and was within a walkable distance of Oxford St.

It was also quite obvious from the description in the "Top Secret" list which hotel was on offer so I knew exactly what I was getting (just search for the phrases used in the description to get the hotel's own website).
