    Hey hows it going.
I bought a laptop in the states a while back and I'm still using a 2 to 3 pin adapter for the U.S. plug and all i need is a lead with a 3 pin plug that plugs into the laptop's ac adapter. The leads connection is standardized so anyone will do. I was wondering if anyone had one to spare?

    Cheers

If its a US Laptop, then the transformer in the power supply will run at 110v. If you put this into the mains in an irish socket.... Boom goes power supply (not good) and possibly damage the laptop too, so I'm confused as to how its working for you so far. Was this a 220V transformer with just an adaptor plug? (The rating will be on the transformer)

Anyway if its worked for a while on irish power, nevermind the above. If its just a matter of changing the plug that goes into the wall outlet, a simple solution if you have worked with electrics before is to chop off the plug from the US and put on a standard 3 pin plug in its stead.

Edit: I've just had a thought. If the voltage range on the power supply is 100 - 240v, then its happy days

Yeah the range is 100 to 240 its all good. I know i could just take off the plug and replace it wit a 3 pin but seeing as those cables are so plentiful i thought someone might have one left over from some piece of kit that wasn't working anymore or watever (it might also be handy for when i go back to america no doubt).
Its basically a cable for an ac adapter with 3 round connection slots on the end. Anybody got a spare? Figure its worth givin someone here the money for something they consider a bit of rubbish rather than some shop

Put a request up on adverts. Someone there should have one.
