I'm dying to go to this, my favourite dj/producer right now...

I'm told that for gigs like this Spy is a horrible sweatbox and not enjoyable..... Is this true, anyone been recently?

Yea it's a sweatbox alright. I was at Sebastian there in Febuary and my t-shirt was stuck to me with sweat just dripping everywhere! Went to Dominick Eulberg last Friday and bearing in mind my last experience there brought a spare t-shirt! Still its a serious sweat box but quick service gettin brews/water. Like the soundsystem in there. Appears to be similar but much smaller than the set up they had in the bodytonic tent at electric picnic in 2006

Difference between this Eulberg and Sebastian is that its the whole place including Wax downstairs open together. As far as I know MSTRKRFT and Gui are on at the same time so the crowd should be split between 2 rooms. Id say MSTRKRFT will be busier so more room upstairs for the rest of us at Gui.

I've only heard good things about Spy, so am really looking forward to this.

Heard MSTRKRFT will be playing in Wax though, which is where I'll be spending most of the night. Haven't heard anything about Wax but I'm sure it's pretty similar to Spy upstairs...

yeah it is a sweatbox but not enjoyable is one thing it definitely isn't. Its one of the best venues around

I've been in spy a few times lately, saw damian lazarus, chloe, michael mayer and jennifer cardini there in the past few months, and while the main room is a sweat box, i've still had brilliant nights there, sure it's only a bit of sweat :)
seriously though, have always enjoyed the night, as other ppl have said the sound is good, and bar service is fast, and when they open up wax downstairs, it's a lot less cramped!
lookin forward to ame and the hacker there next weekend, and ellen allien a few weeks later.
