    As a rule in general, the boxed headphones that come with ipods are crap. Just invest in a decent pair and you'll be glad of it!

    Nope this isn't a normal, or regular, occurrence... when you get a chance test with a different set of earphones, you may still want to take the nano back to the shop to get it or the earbuds replaced though.

    mine wer da same, i just blew the top of dem and they started working fine again.i had mine a gud while b4 they started crackiling tho, i think it was just dust or sumtin in mine.

    it's not just ipod's that come with crap earphones, in fact the only player that came with decent enough earphones was the iriver h140 which came with rebranded sennheisers.

    Rio Karma also came with decent stock buds ;) also Sennheiser rebrands.

    These days the only good stock buds are the ones that come with the Son A8XX series or the MS Zune.
