Self Building & trying to find a builder ( Dublin)

Hi there,
We are just new to this website. Its really informative.
We are hoping to start building our house soon. We have our planning permission etc..and are ready to go. We have not found a builder yet. We have got two prices so far which are way over the top. We are builder a 1.5 storey dormer 1400 square feet. We have gotten prices back of 280 - 295 ? which I think is way over the top. That does not include furnishings, but includes a kitchen. I have been looking at some of the posts and there seems to be a couple of people self building , houses the size of 2500 for just a little of 200. Can anyone recommend a good decent builder who is at a reasonable price in Dublin ? Thanks for your help ..;)

First of all if you have been looking at building costs on this forum you should have seen that there is a wide gulf in the prices depending on what part of the country you are located. Unfortunately for you Dublin is probably one of the dearest if not the dearest place to build.

Secondly we dont allow names of builders to be posted up here but we dont have a problem if people wish to PM you any details.
