I have no explanation for this!

Ok im not a believer in the paranormal, im open to it and will not dismiss the possibility, but i have yet to see anything i can not explain. Until now.

Here is the situation, nothing too weird but since there is no explanation im at a loss as to how this happened.

We spent the weekend in Cork, had to come back this morning as my wife was heading to London later. So we came home about 12:30 or so. I said hello to my cats, cleaned out their litter box and went out to the shed to get the ladder. I set up the ladder, went up to the attic and got a suitcase. I then came down, closed the hatch and put the ladder against the wall in the hallway (attic hatch is in bathroom).

I then played with the cats while my wife was having a shower and packing. Asia managed to scratch my hand even, i have a little mark on my finger... (yes this is going somewhere).
We left at 2:30 as i was to drop my wife off in Maynooth for 3 at the Esso garage where her friend will take her to the airport (travelling together).
I got home then about 3:30 or maybe a little after. And this is where it gets weird.

I find only one cat to greet me, Sophie. There is no sign of asia. I walk around everywhere looking for her. I can hear her meow faintly, it sounds like she is in the attic but thats impossible as its closed up. I check drawers and all sorts of places.. in the end i give in and decide to defy logic and check the attic.. sure enough she is up there!

HOW?? There is only one way up there and that is the hatch in the bathroom. I certainly did not let her up there, she was down in the house AFTER i closed it up. :eek: So to be absolutely certain im not losing my mind and im not remembering what happened... sure maybe she went up while i was up there and i imagined she was down and scratched me AFTER i closed the hatch. Maybe i came home and opened up the hatch and i have no memory of it?? Well there is a very simple way to make certain! I have 4 CCTV camera's in my house after i got robbed before Christmas.

I sat down and watched events unfold exactly as i remember them. One camera in the hall shows the ladder and the entrance to the bathroom where the attic hatch is.
After i leave i can see Asia wander around the house. The last thing i see is her walk up to the front door and then down towards the bedroom at the other end of the hall although she does not go in the bedroom or the kitchen... in other words she does not leave the hallway from what i can see. Then i walk back in and start looking for her only to find her in the attic? And the Red step ladder never moves from the wall.

Im at a complete loss... there must be some explanation, but there is no way i can think for a cat to get into the attic without a stepladder and attic hatch opened.

Maybe there's a small gap in a wall or something? It is very odd...

I figured it out a while ago... I just went back over it in my mind.
Firstly... i know from the CCTV she never left the hall way, and she had to be outside of the camera's view.
Secondly.. one of the places i looked was the hotpress (door was slightly open). She was not in there.

So i went and took a look in the hotpress and there is a small gap in the ceiling, only a few inches square where the pipes go up into the attic. She must have squeezed herself through it.. its only a little bigger than my fist!

Well mystery solved... it was wrecking my head and even had me questioning my sanity
