    Hi All,

I will be looking for a new Broadband provider very shortly as I'm moving, also I plan on getting a new telly soon.

I've spent lots of time reading reviews, opinions and all that kind of shizzle,
Trying to see what and who I should be investing in.

I was thinking that if we had one thread that listed gear that people used and
    thought was great.

No need for measuring each others wiimotes! but it would be a good resource for people.

I'd be really grateful if anyone could let me know their set up at home.. for stuff like

    1. Which is better RBG cable or Compostite,

    2. Best sound system to have

    3. Best TV in different categories, 32 37 42 inch ones, the best plasma
one , best lcd, best model sony, samsung etc

    4. Best Broadband provider, which router's work well that kinda thing

    5. Best peripherals... if anyone has tried a wireless nunchuck, those
    wonderful golf lub extensions

Personally i think I'm gonna get a 32" TV, I have NTL at the minute, the €40 per month package.

mario kart seemed to work ok when i finally could get to a game, the channel stuff was grand, voting, weather blah blah....Mario strikers and Pro evo were hit and miss

    Late!

component is better, but still kinda rubbish. if you have other consoles that take up component and hdmi slots on your telly, you may as well just keep the wii via scart, coz it looks crap anyway

Due to the fact that the Wii isn't pumping out a HD signal, it would seem a waste to buy a TV with it in mind, my Philips 37" is hosting my 360, PS3 and Wii and does a fine job, so I can reccommend that, although I would say, set yourself a budget and buy a TV within it, say €500 to €700 should do the trick.
Certainly get the component cable although the difference is marginal.
Sound, once again, check reviews and just by a TV with a decent set of speakers, the simpler the setup the better for the Wii, seeing as it is not a media hub.
As for peripherals, a load of rubbish to a man, bar the racing wheel for MarioKart and the gun thingy with that Zelda shooter.
A wireless sensor bar is good too, gets shot of that annoying cable.

    cheers ciderman,

i reckon il get a ps3 in te next few months too, so id like to have a HD TV,
once i have a HD Source, setting a budget is deffo the way to go, i think maybe €750 for the tv,

does the wii look ok on 37", because i've read it can look worse on HD than SD

I have mine on a 42" LG plasma, via component (the 5 wires one) and it looks great!

I have mine playing away at 60hz through the scart lead into the VCR and ito a 28 inch flat screen CRT telly and it looks fine, I have previously had it running into a 780p HDready 32 inch with the Component Cable and it looked fantastic!

I have also had it running at 50Hz into a very old school 26inch TV and it looked terrible, unplayable.

I'm planning to buy a HDtv anyway and am really looking forward to having it, using the Component cable made a big difference.

If you do use a HDtv you will need a comonent cable as it is much better than scart on HD.
