Does it have a memory card ? can you save game progress and high scores etc ? I've been giving some thought to buying one, I seem to keep coming back to considering it every few months when I find myself with a little bit of extra cash, the local shop has a whole aisle of DS games but theres only a couple would interest me - the latest mario bros, chessmaster and maybe a final fantasy game, the rest are all babiez bunniez and bratz etc, is there an online retailer with a good selection of more adult oriented games ?

You save games to the cart itself, high scores are the same.

There are plenty of good games hidden away behind the endless lines of Brain games and pet raising games, HMV, Game and Virgin (or whatever it's called now) have loads to choose from.
Me, I'm currently playing Picross, Space Invaders Extreme and Professor Layton on mine.

Loads of great games for the DS. New Super Mario Bros (hard to get in the shops tbh...), Zelda, Sonic Rush (classic 2d sonic goodness!), and loads more...

Currently playing through Phoenix Wright: Justice for All and Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin, both deadly games!

Currently playing Ninja Gaiden Dragon Sword, Advance Wars DOR,Space Invaders Extreme and Bangai-O Spirits.

The amount of great games I've played through in the last year and a half for the console is actually quite staggering. Definitely get one.

Really doesn't make a difference which one you buy first. They'd both be fine for a beginner. Both great games too :)

Some games you'll finish in a couple of weeks, some you'll never finish. It's the same as any other console in that regard really.
