    hi all
basic question - very quickly the shower goes from hot to warm water, but the water coming out of the bath is still hot - how does this work ? do they come from different tanks ? is there anyway to divert all the hot water to the shower ?

    cheers

we need a bit more detail:
    is this a new problem?
is the shower an electrically heated one?
    house/apt/?
    how is bath water heated?

Sometimes plumbers install a sort of bypass near the pump.
This mixes cold water with the hot ,before it enters the pump.

I've not installed one myself ,but I presume its to prevent the stat kicking in on a mixer shower.

Apart from that ,it might be a blockage in the shower/mixer or the controls aren't properly aligned.

cheers for the help and to answer your questions:

is this a new problem? No - always like that - just had enough of it!
is the shower an electrically heated one? no - but it is a "power shower"
    house/apt/? house - about 40 years old
how is bath water heated? - either from immersion timer or from oil fired heating or both ?

    cheers
