Elaine Page & Barbara Dickson - I know him so well

    US No. 1:
    Wham! - Careless Whisper

    Aus No. 1:
Foreigner - I wanna know what love is

Jesus christ those are all equally atrocious... Why couldn't I have had a cool one like the OP's. Mind you it seems that other posters are equally afflicted. The 80's eh? The decade that taste forgot.

Brilliant website! Ah, mine is Save All Your Kisses by Brotherhood of Man. I've an awful inkling I know and detest that song!! And I don't want to prove myself right!

The Number One in the UK & Ireland when I was born was The Power of Love by Jennifer Rush which must be the most stereotypically mid 80's song imaginable. A few weeks later and I could have had former Undertone Feargal Sharkey. The US No.1 was some song I never heard of called Oh Shelia by Ready for the World.

At least the UK No 1 Album was decent. Hounds of Love by Kate Bush.

UK: "The Only Way Is Up" by Yazz and the Plastic Population (never heard of it...)
US: "Roll With It" by Steve Winwood (never heard of it...)
Oz: "Age of Reason" by John Farnham (you guessed it! I've never heard of this one either)

Here's one I do know, unfortunately! Kylie Minogue holds the honour of being numero uno in Ireland on the day I was born, with the masterpiece that is... The Locomotion :(

I know all those songs except Aussie John Farnham's one - incidentally, he had a big hit over this way with "The Voice". Of the three above, the only one worth bothering with, in my opinion (obviously!), is Steve Winwood's "Roll With It" - great tune.
