    Hi all
Slightly off thread but here goes:

I dread buying from PC World, but do love the ability to go into their stores and poke about and try before I buy. can anybody recommend a store in dublin that has a good range of hardware on view and isn't terribly expensive?

    cheers!

PcWorld, but do your homework here first & dont let them talk you in2 an extended warranty or Norton Isavirus crap.

    Whats your needs & budget?

I'll get a mod movr this to the laptop forum, you'll get better response there

You've also got the laptop shop. I don't know what they are like but have heard a few good things. Like pog says you may need to do your homework a bit (this goes for any laptop purchase). If you give us your needs and budget we can recommend a spec for you.

Thanks for the advice guys! I'm certainly not a newbie but tend to do all my purchasing online or in the US where I visit regularly. In this case that's not possible (pity, the exchange rate is awesome right now!)

I'm going to take my bro laptop shopping this weekend and was looking for an alternative to PC world (i know exactly what i'm looking for, but even if they have it I wouldn't buy it there on the basis of principle - I would prefer to buy from a small Irish owned company than the likes of PC world).

I hadn't thought of the laptop shop, but will give them a try. are beyond 2000 still very expensive?
