Lazy man tips

Things to help you get through your work day, or any day.

The toilet break - When you don't feel like working, nip off to the toilet. Take a seat and think about how smart you are. Take as long as you need, I usually nap in work using this method. If anyone asks you say you were in the toilet.

That should suffice, however there are some tenacious ones out there. If they ask you why you took so long, tell them "you don't wanna know". Don't use this too often, only in extreme cases of laziness, hung-overness or tiredness should this be used.

Note this can be used in many other situations, such as housework, gardening work, cooking etc. etc.

I have a few more but I am waiting for the other brothers to share some of their knowledge also...

pa trout was a huge fan of the working-poo, as you get paid for yore trouble and you also save on toilet paper costs (which can be considerable)

    my top tip.

Don't be afraid to put in some serious effort at the start as you be suprised how much time you will free up to look at boards in the long run

Just do like I do, and don't do anything at all! :D

In a perfect world Don1 that would be acceptable but we have to be realistic here

Hardly a new one - who doesn't put in a little time-and-a-turd? No sense pissing away your own time.....

But you only need to stay 5 minutes later than the last person who counts.

A good tactic, but can easily be countered your boss by getting you paged repeatedly. Which is a real nuisance if you actually do need to take a dump

you should always have your left hand poised over ALT+TAB to bring up that spreadsheet you're supposed to be working on :)

and this is a good program:
    http://www.teamcti.com/trayit/trayit.htm

it lets you minimize any program you want to the system tray so no has to see something like "lazy man tips" in your task bar if they look at your screen.

it's generally handy for keeping your taskbar clutter free too

I can't recommend the Stealth Switch highly enough ... best 40 dollahs you will ever spend.

You can switch off ANY application, without making a fumble for ALT-TAB ... merely click on teh stealth switch.

The Stealth Switch can also mute sound, hide the taskbar, hide desktop icons, and password protect the restore function.

You will feel like a king.

It's reduced to $25 now. That's a brilliant invention though.

Guilt people into doing work for you.
Also if you happen to be a manager or higher just dole out the work load on your servants. :)

I would post up how to ssh into your ipod making it act like a server to access your music no matter where you are but, well its effort, but the rewards are excellent.

Walking fast with an important looking piece of paper is a great way of disapearing for a while, everyone assumes you need to get something done and are to busy to do other work.

If you have a private office then sprinkle some paper clips beside the door. Lie down on the floor and take a nap leaving your hand near the door. When someone opens the door it will wake you up and you pretend to be picking them up.
