    lads,

bought my first MBpro last Nov in Korea and I have to say what a move! I've since converted about 5 people who have bought macs in the US and Asia!

    In summary:-
    1. Faster boot
    2. Never crashes
    3. Does what I need it to do! NO FAT !!
    4. No useless programmes like Vista (the reason I moved)
    5. Sync with most of my other devices
    6. Has ms office and other ms programmes I've been used to on it now!

Anyway, if your on the fence give Mac a go and you won't regret it!

    Two negatives:-
    1. Very little games to pc, but sure maybe thats a good thing!
    2. Mac Irish pricing (all the punters I recommended bought overseas!)

Anyway big thumbs up to apple :p:p Last question any good skins I can get for a mbpro 15 inch? glove style...

    D

(next mac purchase TIME CAPSULE ! 1tb)

well done on your switch to mac. I made my switch at the beginning of this month and I haven't looked back since.

I would reccommend either a crumpler gimp sleeve or if you want to spend a bit of money get a Brenthaven eclipse.

I'm using a brenthaven eclipse for my 13" macbook and I really feel my macbook is protected by the padding

Love my macbook too, converted in January, though does nobody find the browsers either shut down or fail to respond once in a while, especially when using Java apps like anywhere poker etc...

Sounds like Safari? Have you tried other browsers?

Did you ever find the browsers in windows would crash and shut down on the really demanding webpages like google and boards.ie?

    :p

Definitely found browsers crashing A LOT more often in Windows than Leopard but with Apple it mainly happens with Java apps with Safari or Firefox, ah well still much prefer Leopard over any XP or Vista.

Believe me new guys but if had ever had a go on an older Mac loaded with Safari and IE for Mac, the speed of Safari compared to IE is so scarily good that you would welcome a crash one odd time.

It is only the last few months that Safari will settle down again, given the migration from Power PC Macs to Intel power, the move towards Tiger and Leopard on top of this and the works needed for iPhone would have distracted some of the developers attention to detail so in many respects it is amazing it runs as well as it does. Ensure you run Software Update if Safari misbehaves; it and Java are often updated.
