First set of clubs!

Hi,

I golf quite a bit during the summer and im looking to buy a set of irons as im sick of using my brothers. I'm not a big lad and id need something fairly forgiving as im not a great golfer.

I was looking at these as they've gotten some good comments from buyers.

I'm no expert on clubs but they look a bit ropey to me .
I would be sticking to known brands .
For similar money , I think these would be a much better buy as a strater set.

Well i don't mind spending more.. i honestly don't know many of the golfing name brands.

I'll keep those in mind anyway, they look quite nice. If i could buy from somewhere in Ireland, i'd prefer to do that though.

Ok, so i'm looking for a set of beginners name brand clubs, suited for a small guy who isn't an amazing golfer.

So far mscull's ram set are leading the bunch.

Don't waste your money buying ****e like that.

Go to McGuirks or some reputable golf shop and pick up a set of second hand clubs in decent knick. For a beginner, anything from the likes of wilson etc. won't cost you the earth.

Alternatively an end of the line set brand new may fall into your budget.

Go to a good shop and ask for advise.

I am also looking for a beginners set of clubs. I have played Golf a few times but am looking to play a lot more in the future. Are the Clubs in Argos/Heatons worth buying or is the best route throught a Golf shop. Looking to spend less than 200 yo yo?

Wouldn't go near the argos or heatons stuff myself,
get down to McGuirks doing good starter sets at the moment
for around 200. Saw a verry deceant looking wilson set for 299
if you are willing to stretch the budget.

Maybe get a set of Wilson Deep Reds. I have the irons atm and they're very forgiving and won't break the bank

one word EBAY! Also a begineer, recently bought a full set of those wilson deep red, very happy, friends of mine who actually know a thing or two about were impressed also. Brand new full set incl bag putter driver n 2 hybrids for only €250 thats with delivery from the states. Clubs are crazy cheap from the states. Really cant recommend ebay enough for clubs.Flawless

bought a set of wilson ultra 45's; sw,pw 5-9irons,hybrid 3/4club,driver, 3 woodand a gem of a putter for 300 yoyos in nevada bobs.. he threw in 24 balls and glove.. felt like i overspent at the time as i wouldnt have rated myself anything better than a "hacker", but my game has improved markedly.. still no TW lol

Not especially, considering they were fairly inexpensive clubs when they were new.
