Evil Breed

I was lucky enough to witness one of the greatest films ever made, last night. I was particularly bored and "Escape From LA" wasn't enough to hold my attention. So I decided to go where no man should ever want to go, Zone Horror channel, and watched Evil Breed.

You may have heard the plot before: Sexy teens are stalked by inbred cannibles. Not too original, but what makes it brilliant is the fact that it's set in Ireland! Oh, and I think half the cast are porn stars too. That makes it even better!!

I honestly couldn't believe what I was seeing at times. I can't say the acting was bad, since there wasn't actually any. In one scene in a car, one of the "actresses" kept looking down and I'm pretty sure it was to read her script. And these sexy teens were all in their 30's, which was a bit weird (I didn't actually realise that they were meant to be sexy teens until about half way through the film).

I went on to IMDB to check the film out and I thought I'd just list what's in the Goofs section since it gave me a bit of a chuckle:
    • Errors in geography: An Irish character refers to eating haggis, a Scottish dish.
    • Errors in geography: The movie takes place in Ireland but the van is left-hand drive and drives on the right side of the road as if it's in North America.
    • Errors made by characters (possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): Karen Douglas despite being a teacher in Celtic studies (pronounced 'keltic') uses the pronunciation with the soft-c or 's'-sound.
    • Continuity: When Shae is hitting the mutant with an ax, she is having flashbacks of all the characters that were killed. However, the Jenny character is in there too and Jenny and Shae never met in the movie.
    • Crew or equipment visible: SPOILER: In the final scene when the mutant woman walks into the cabin a crewmember's arm can be seen outside the doorway holding up a piece of sound equipment.
All in all, this is a terrible, yet brilliant film. I recommend drinking before, during and after it, though. Oh, and Jenna Jameson is in it, too. You can't ask for more.

Oh, and I completely forgot to put in the questions I was going to ask. Firstly, has anyone seen this film, and secondly, is it just me, or does anyone else really love these really bad horror movies that I can't even call B-Movies (actually, I wouldn't even assign them a letter and I'm not too keen on using the word "Movie" in association with them)? I don't know what it is about them, but they're just hypnotic.

Zone Horror is great. Saw a really $hitty 'thriller' there once starring Tom Savini as a hitman. Classic stuff.
