Luger Holster

I bought a reproduction luger holster recently,
and I dont get the strap inside it?

Ok, its a holster, it has a lid, it closes over and fastens with a buckle, but inside the holster there is a strap fixed to the front and rear of the holster.

Is this to secure the luger by sliding over the grip, or to sit under the trigger guard providing a pull string to pull the luger out?

    I'm bamboozled.

You'll probably find that the Luger is a little hard to get out of the holster, right? Bit of a struggle to get the fingers in around the grip, thus grabbing it by the rear of the reciever is the easiest option, not very practical though when a Tommy is pulling his Webley from his nice flexible web holster :pac:

That strap, there is a tab on the ouside of the holster, with the gun in the holster, grab that tab and give it a good pull upwards, and up your Luger comes with it :D. Be a bit stiff at first, but once the leather softens it'll work better.

Good man, thats what I've been doing ;)

Just wasn't sure if it was the correct use for it.

    Thanks.

    Hello chem,

I am no authority on these and may be wrong, but I would say that is a fake judging by the stamps. I have never seen a waffenampt stamp like that one and the totenkopf on the front looks way off. 'Dachau'??...I don't think so.

    Regards - Dan
