iTunes music problem

Slight prob. There wasn't room on my old Mac for all my music, so I moved it offside to an external hard drive.

Now with a new Mac I've copied it all back in, but I can't get iTunes to see it, unless I import all 48GB, tune by tune.

    Is there a workaround?

    Wow,

I am trying the opp to you. I have itunes open and I want to copy songs onto a external HD, when I select maybe 3000 songs it just want drag and click. You have to select smaller amounts..... I too would love to hear from others on this.

When you moved your music, you would have broken the libraries links to the files. The only way I can think of that you could recreate them would be to delete the library references to the music files, and reimport the folder (File > Add to Library) that they are in.

    You little genius you!

(By the way, to move them on to the hard drive, I just dragged the whole iTunes Music Folder on to it to copy it.)

I moved 'most' of my library to an external HD, keeping a selection of my favourites on my powerbook... there is a correct way to do this though, and I've posted about it before here

    Cheers for that.

Its actually for a DJ(Numark D2) unit. I've 11 playlist made on my itunes, with 11 partitions on the hd. When i drag and click the playlist contents it just will not copy everything over. I'll read that link.

    Cheers.
