Well they play each other three times in the league, then an additional once if they both make the top 6, which they will.

Last nights game was the re-arranged game that was postponed on January 2nd following the death of Phil O'Donnell

    12 teams, 38 games.

All play each other 3 times during the season before the split, so 33 games, then the top 6 play each other once more and the bottom 6 do the same, so another 5 games bringing it to 38.

Like said above, the game last night was a rearranged fixture. Never normally see OF games midweek, they're normally early kick-offs at the weekend.

The fixtures have been a disaster this season between the games cancelled for Phil O'Donnell's untimely passing (RIP), and the affect that the weather has had on Fir Park, which Motherwell were (stupidly) allowed to rent to Gretna by the SPL.

There have actually been less games played on the fir park pitch this season, as their Reserves and U-19's played there all last season

It's still in a complete jock though. Did you see it at the weekend?

    Yep, its disgusting, an embarrasment.

I understand that the weather can hit pitches badly in scotland, especially considering the rainfall we had at the beginning of the year....but there is no excuse for the state of the motherwell pitch this season.

Thats why i pointed out the fact that there has actually been less games played on it, they should not be allowed to hide behind Gretna, IMO they should have been fined over it.
