I decided to let out my long term frustration in the form of a short story. It is a true story about a bus journey so thought it would be relevant to this forum. I know its shameless pimping but theres no point writing it if nobody is gonna read it! Feedback welcome.

Ah yes - the joys of the 79/79A. Thats why I ALWAYS sit or stand downstairs or use the 151. Dublin bus have even taken to turning off the automated warning on the 79 about how smokers will be charged 3000 euros if they light up on the bus. Apparently it was going off so often that the drivers where being driven demented by the annoying pre-teen voice...

God that's the funniest thing I've read in ages. God love the drivers never mind the passengers!

It truely is horrendous. Worst bus route I have ever been on. Worse than 39 or any of the Finglas buses by a mile.

I used to take the 79 to work in Park West and I don't remember it being that bad?

That said I usually managed to lodge myself in to my own little world until Heuston. Loud mp3 player helps...

I use the 79/A every day. Never a problem. Fast & frequent too. 78A is much worse.

My first week on the bus some guy got absolutely battered and thrown down the stairs. When he got off the bus there were about 10 guys waiting for him.
