Hiya

Wel, circumstances have changed for me here - originally from overseas.... anyway, have just gone through a break up so have effectively lost everyone that I knew over here!! Other than the standard work / flat situation, does anyone know of any other way to meet people over here?? Not internet dating or anything like that - definitely not looking for a relationship at the moment!! Just new friends / people to talk to really!! Im in Dublin...

OP, watch out for the ladies lounge meet-up thread. We have regular meet-ups for coffee or cinema etc. There's lots of ladies in your situation.

I would have organised something for the next week or two but am leaving the country and will soon be looking for my own way to meet ladies for chats!

Alternatively you can post in the thread (it should be a page or two back) and ask if people are around fo coffee. We're all very friendly!

Well I think most people at some stage in their lives have been in a situation like this and you can never have enough friends. Plus there's some great girls on here and most of us would probably have never met if it wasn't for this place so big thumbs up for the Ladies Lounge

Thanks Dragan, tbh, I don't think the ladies lounge gets enough acknowledgement of this. There's a lot of posters that think TLL is a waste of space but I think the fact that there's regular meet-ups is a great thing and we should get kudos for it.

So, kudos Ladies!

Hey OP, there's an LL Meetup thread somewhere a page or two back. Post in there and you'll be sure to get a response or 12! The girls are great for hooking up with, be it for coffee and cake, cinema or an unmerciful amount of pints.

Was thinking about this the other day

I can't begin to explain how much the LL and Boards in general have done for me since I first posted this back in April, I've met some of the most amazing people through this - people who I know i'll be friends with long after I go home

Its awesome to know that there are still so many genuine people still out there!

Anyone who's thinking about coming along to a LL meet up or a boards beers in general? Just go for it! They really are some of the nicest people you will ever, ever meet!

I've just seen that topic and I'm in the same situation of looking for friends.
I'm in Ireland for a year now, I'm 23 working and studying. but I live with a family in Newtownmountkennedy. I have a boyfriend but I find difficult to meet new people ! and as I'm busy I don't always have the time to come into town (as I don't have a car, it's complicated sometimes)
I saw you meet up for a coffee or something but I had the feeling youse all in Dublin...

There is probably some clubs but i don't know about it...
I live in Newtownmountkennedy but I'm looking for a flat in Bray or Greystones so I think it's gonna be handier to be there to go out and meet people... anyone from that area in the LL ?

Think there's one or two alright (but won't name names just in case) but sure Bray/Greystones are practically Dublin suburbs and easy to get in to town so come to a LL meet up sometime
