5D successor

    Will Canon be releasing a successor to the 5D ?
    a 5D mk II or 6D ?

    I was considering getting one (next year) or a 40D ..

    I have a 400D now and like telephoto shooting, so what puts me off the
    5D is the full frame sensor ..

    zoom will be reduced ..

    5D replacement will probably be released around Aug. Nothing confirmed yet though.

    Yeah, 5D is full frame, so you not have that extra bit of distance.

    I have a 40D and think it's a brilliant camera.

    On the other hand the lens will now behave exactly like the numbers printed on it , and math will be reduced .... never a bad thing ,

    And for a landscape shooter like me , the wide end gets wider , bliss !!

    Regarding its successor , you have to say that at this stage , the likelihood of the next model being announced just as you hand over your credit card for the 5D is very high ! And wouldnt you just be sick ... knowing that the price will plummet for the 5D on that announcement. Not a nice feeling at all.

    Oooohhh the excitement is too much and it will mean getting a decent camera cheap fas a backup for the backup
