That is so cute! I know a guy, a cartoonist, who proposed to his girl through his comic strip. Hang, it's online somewhere....... here it is! John's story

Excellent Fozzle! Nice to see diskworld getting a well deserved airing. I read the books when they first came out, and still remember all the stories and characters. :) Best wishes and congratulations for your forthcoming wedding. :D

Very clever young man, but it's turtles all the way down.

:) Who's going to make this for you?

Nerdy aspect to our wedding, we're having the Imperial March from Star Wars to welcome us into the reception.

    Young man?! *is insulted* ;)

At the moment, no idea who's making it. I have great hopes that a friend who's a chef will do it though - fingers crossed!

Wow, the Imperial March, that's cool.

Shoulda put in "Said the old lady to Bertrand Russell" :o

We were toying with the idea of having it as the walking down the aisle tune, but I think it could slightly undermine the solemnity of the occasion. :p

Also thinking of naming our tables after movies and having trivia on the placecards, and having a "How well do you know us?" quiz for everyone with a prize. (We loves the quizzes).

We're doing up betting slips for speech lengths, a euro a pop, winner takes all and we'll include something extra from ourselves for the winner.

The the speech games are always fun.

The Imperial march does sound like a good idea but I think you got it right by not playing it walking down the aisle. Maybe good for the musak version from Family guy :P.

If I was to have a true nerd wedding it would be in Vegas and try sort out the Hilton and Star Trek Exp. Honestly who could say no to getting married on the bridge of the enterprise? Having their wedding receiption in Quarks bar? The toasts being made with Romulan Ale? Borg and Klingons attending your every need? As it turns out my fiancee could and did.... back to the drawing board! Yes I suggested it but only in jest, says the man with the trekkie tattoo ;).

:o We're going down that road. Well, kinda. We're having a church wedding here for the family, and to get the legal side done, then we're going to GenCon Indy for our honeymoon and getting married in character and in costume in Legend of the Five Rings (a roleplaying game and collectible card game).

:) I always thought a Trek wedding would be cool though. But alas my obsession (and tattoo) are Five Rings, not Star Trek.
