    Hi,
We (couple with 1yr old baby) are looking at spending a week in northern Italy this June.
Am just wondering peoples opinions on renting a villa / apartment near the sea or the lakes and if anyone has any recommendations ?
    Many Thanks
    Ciaran.

    Hi Ciaran,

when I was younger I used to spend most of my summer holidays in Lido di Jesolo...it is a popular sea town, pretty nice and full of shops, etc

If you google Lido di Jesolo you will find plenty of info...18km of beaches and nice restaurants :)

Also you can easily go for a day trip to Venice as it is only just about 1 hour away.

Other places like Rimini/Riccione risk to be way too busy for a family with kids. Lake Garda is always good too.

    Enjoy!

sea is never easy with babies because they either hate the sand and have to be off it, or they love it and end up with loads in their mouth, on the plus side though is you can take them in the water for a bathe. Lake water tends to be colder and gives them a nice shade of blue after 1 minute:p

I was at lake garda riviera side with a 2 year old it all went well. There are paddling places if need be and we also went on a boat trip. Encountered no problems.

    Hi Ciaran,

Went to lake garda in sept 2006 with 10 month old and wife and it was the best holiday i ever had. Hired a car at milan airport and drove down there. We rented a little apartment and used it as a base to go off every day to somewhere new. Drove to verona one day which was lovely. Also if you go into the mountains behind garda you will find little villages with great little cafes with no tourists and smashing views and food. If i can find the name of the apartments I will post it up. Once again do not hesitate to book this holiday and have a great time if you go.
