When purchasing through paypal,to get the cheapeast conversion rate should I pay for the item using paypal's conversion rate or should I pay in the sellers currency-usually pounds or dollars?

For example,im buying an item for $9.86. Xe.com have this as being 6.24euros. However when im paying for the item through paypal i've the option of paying in euro's with paypal's rate(6.41euros) or else paying in the sellers currency whose rate is unknown to me until I get my bill.It also says that if I pay in the sellers currency, I may be subject to foreign exchange fees.
