    Whats your biggest Regret?

    Is there something that you would go back and change if you had the chance?

    Is there one thing you think could have had a huge change on your life had you chosen something else?

    Not really, the consequences have made me who I am today.

    However, I think I should have just completed college in one phase and then gone travelling rather than taking a break mid-degree.

    I landed a pile of money about 6 years ago, and instead of buying a house or something smart like that (which would have clearly made me millions by now), I pissed it up against a wall.

    That said, I was 18, and I know very few smart 18 year olds, so I don't beat myself up about it too much.

    However, things could have been soo different... not that I'm unhappy with my current situation. Obviously.

    I wouldn't have had those two jagerbombs a few weeks ago.

    I dunno, not sure there's any big thing I'd change.

    Oh, biggest regret lately:

    Acknowleding the existence of complete idiots in The Thunderdome.

    Smoking and becoming generally unfit, also in retrospect that Kebab I had the other night was a very bad call.

    Further acknowledgement feeds the flames ;)

    Another regret would be a recurring one, and it'd be completely of my own doing. I always putthings off, and the things that I always put off always come back to bite me in the ass :(

    I was really bright when I was 18 compared to how I am now.

    Ah, procrastination, one of my worst enemies. I try to fight it, yet it seems to win quite a bit :(

    Far too many for a man of only 27:
    • Letting myself get into debt whilst in college
    • Never learning to live within my means
    • Allowing some stupid things to become habits
    • Not travelling (mainly as a result of the first two)
    • Not standing up for myself at times I really should have done
    • Losing some people from my life by taking too long to realise the answer wasn't at the bottom of the bottle
    • Asking myself "What's the worst that can happen?" and not answering it.
    • Investing too much time in too many people who weren't worth it

    The biggest regret? That the list above is so long.

    Less than I used to, though. That's progress!

    Biggest regret: putting effort into trying to fit in for too long rather than facing myself and learning to love myself.

    I'd have got to something like my current happy state a lot earlier.

    Then again, who knows where alternative actions might have taken me?

    Oh, and there are small regrets from long ago about girls who I hadn't the courage to go after.

    Surprised to be the first to say my biggest regret involved a relationship and me fukcing it up.
    A minute to see, an day to like, a week to love, a lifetime to forget. Or however it goes. Ah no, im over that now, took a while though!

    Ive learned since then,

    hookers are sooo much easier. ;)

    Hey wait a second, she was coming on to me!

    Shít, I missed a chance at getting laid. At least I like to think so D=

    In all seriousness no regrets. If I hadn't made the decisions I've made then I could've been sucked into the trap of teenage boozing like all the other jerks..

    Instead I got to be great and sit back and judge them as beneath me. :pac:

    Seriously, I'm perfect. Why am I the only one to acknowledge that!?

    I am surprised a lot more people aren't saying smoking. I am not one myself but any smoker I talk to (like parents, older relatives, even some friends) say it was the biggest regret of their life. That is understandable considering money, health effects, lifestyle effects, etc.

    There's not that many tbh. Unless you believe the government. HAH

    Edit: Can someone show me examples of all these magical IT jobs that are apparently available. I am getting my degree in about 6 weeks.

    Major ones:
    Letting a relationship fall apart due to not putting enough effort in to it (was reciprocal lack of effort but hey, I still didn't do enough).

    Screwing up the possibility of working in the music industry due to apathy and taking the wrong decision.

    Minor ones:
    Not taking a day off work to see New Order in Birmingham (last chance I had to get to a concert - they broke up shortly after)

    Very minor ones:
    Dropping my 12" of CJ Agnelli - Lush Gold.

    Sure I could think of a few more, mind.

    Maybe regret is something only experienced if you're on the wrong path.

    Just because a famous person said it doesn't make it wise.

    Our actions of the past effect our present and our future. To not feel regret about actions in your past which have adversely effected your present or have limited your options for the future is illogical. Dwelling on them makes no sense but to say you'd make the same mistakes over again makes one a fool.

    I didn't quote them because famous people said them, Honestly I didn't care if some un-named child in the arse crack of nowhere made them up. I honestly think they're wise.

    Illogical? Sure, maybe - because it's human nature to question. But I can say I'd never change anything I've done. Changing things, would mean that I wouldn't be me anymore - We're the sum of our experiences. Change them, and we change ourselfs. Also where's the fun if you can decide EXACTLY what route your life takes and what mistakes you can change? :p

    That's been playing in my head since you posted that thanks......

    classic song though.

    And now, the end is near;
    And so I face the final curtain.
    My friend, Ill say it clear,
    Ill state my case, of which Im certain.
    Ive lived a life thats full.
    Ive traveled each and evry highway;
    And more, much more than this,
    I did it my way.

    Regrets, Ive had a few;
    But then again, too few to mention.
    I did what I had to do
    And saw it through without exemption.
    I planned each charted course;
    Each careful step along the byway,
    But more, much more than this,
    I did it my way.

    Yes, there were times, Im sure you knew
    When I bit off more than I could chew.
    But through it all, when there was doubt,
    I ate it up and spit it out.
    I faced it all and I stood tall;
    And did it my way.

    Ive loved, Ive laughed and cried.
    Ive had my fill; my share of losing.
    And now, as tears subside,
    I find it all so amusing.
    To think I did all that;
    And may I say - not in a shy way,
    No, oh no not me,
    I did it my way.

    For what is a man, what has he got?
    If not himself, then he has naught.
    To say the things he truly feels;
    And not the words of one who kneels.
    The record shows I took the blows -
    And did it my way!
    :D:D:D:D:D:D

    sorry
