Registering laser card on vodafone site

    bloody hell have you ever come across a more ridiculous method of registering a card on vodafone website?

    they have an offer on at the mo - top up by 20 online and get 4 free - plus toping up by 20 gives you free vodafone to vodafone for a month.

    went through mind numbingly boring procedure for filling in laser card details and clicked activate card, they said a charge is applied to laser card/current account, the amount of which is the pin to activate the card.

    well i last got a statement from my bank in january and only get about 3 a year. so is vodafone saying i cannot activate the card until i find out how much the charged to my card, i can only know this by reading statement i have not got, after entering this amount to activate card it will be refunded to my account.

    i mean for god sake could they not use a slightly less complicated procedure?
    if i don't have a statement how can i possibly know what the pin is?
    :mad::mad:

    Bit of a roundabout way compared to other networks .. but anyway.

    What bank are you with? Do you have online banking?

    alternatively, give it about 5 days and pop into your local branch with your passport and ask them what the narrative is for the Vodafone transaction (some branches might do this over the phone).

    given that laser cards have zero security against fraud its actually not a bad way of registering cards... think paypal, big organisation, they do exactly the same thing with even credit cards.

    Of course, once you activate, you get your funds refunded to you.

    Also, you can topup using your existing registered cards without having to type it in every time, not to mention that if you run out of credit on your phone then if you access Vodafone live, it will give a link to top up over your mobile, great if you run low on the road.
