Skype on iPhone

    This is genuine Skype straight from the iPhone, and not through services that bridge over a normal cell call. Skype voice calls are ONLY available through WiFi, though you can chat over EDGE. Interestingly, when you hit the home button it only hides the app - so its active in the background waiting to receive Skype calls. To quit it properly you have to hit an exit button in the app.

    I've been playing with this over the last hour, and for a pre-release - its pretty darn good. It crashes every so often and there are some echo and delay issues, but its an incredible 1st step. I'm certain that this will hit the AppStore pretty much immediately after launch before Skype themselves get a client out there.
