I'm a 27 year old living in the north of the country and I am very interested in training to be a taxidermist. I have begun my own collection of pieces, bought off ebay, and would love to be able to take part in the craft myself.

Does anyone know of anyone in the north who would be willing to train me?

I would think you would start by becoming an under study to a taxidermist get in contact with any local taxidermist and see if they are looking for any staff. If there not they might be able to point you in the right direction.

Don't know how you would go about it but I can certainly mention one "Taxidermist" in Dublin NOT to get in touch with!

He is a disgrace to the profession and I hope you never end up like him:mad:

    Mrs- Taxidermy

There is a good one in Banbridge, an English lady who along with here husband are very highly regarded. I have seen their work up close and it is top quality. I had a number somewhere and will send you it if I can find it. They show at the Shanes castle fair and I think the Moira one also which are coming up soon. I would recommend you chat with them.

    Cheers,

    Mallards.
