There's a great party shop in Lucan. You'll definitley get something there. I had my sisters Hen party last week and get her some funky stuff.

Do we have to get presents for hens now?
It that not pulling the proverbial....there are presents coming out of everyones ears at this stage.
We'll all be suffering from gift fatigue and we won't appreciate father christmas's effort if we keep carrying on like this. :(

I would also suggest a Rabbit for her!!

On my hen the girls did up a photo album for me, they all got pictures together of me, and then the girls each wrote a little message in the photo album . It was really sweet. Might be nicething to do!

hen parties are so horrible and tacky, if you have get her something make it tasteful maybe a photo frame or a voucher but i am unsure why you would have to get her anything tbh

    Have to agree with Moonbaby

When is engagement present, engagement party, Hen night or as is common now 'very expensive hen weekend', paying for bride on hen night, wedding present, staying in expensive mediocore hotel room at wedding, taking annual leave if its a weekday wedding, outfit, hair, babysitter (if you need one) ever going to be enough. I'm delighted for anyone getting married but girls lets steady on, it shouldn't cost your friends and arm and a leg to go to your wedding. One recent on cost me €800+ approx. Oh lord its getting out of control..............

I totally agree, the year i was buying my house, a very good friend invited me to her wedding. i totalled up what it was going to cost excess €1,000.00. I told her i was buying a house and could afford that type of cost. she hasnt spoken to me since and now brides are going to be expecting hen presents - i dont think so.

Agreed that weddings are gone out of control now.

OP said just a token gift so maybe buy her three pairs of undies and stick them into three different boxes. Put a thong in box one labeled 'for years 1-3 of marriage', put briefs in the second box labeled 'for years 4-7 of marriage' and put big granny undies into one labeled 'to get you well into your retirement'. Might give her a giggle! You can get cheap ones in pennys or dunnes!

Me neither, but I'm going to my cousins hens next week and we were told by her bridesmaid that we have to get her a 'token' gift

Wouldn't mind but the hen party is in Liverpool and for just one night.

at a hen party I was at one of the girls had made place mats by scanning lots of photos of the hen from various stages of her life and laminating them. It was great on the evening and good to keep for the future.

Really - would it have been in Eng?? Altho i'm guessing she got the idea from someone else - most of my friends aren't that creative!!!

I still have no idea what to get for my cousins hens next week, it has to be a gift for around €10, the idea being something to help her with married life

Theres 10 people going so will have to try and think of something not to obvious.

    Anyone any ideas??

I went to a hens last summer and we were asked by the bridesmaid to do something similar, we had to bring something symbolic of married life, or to symbolise the key to a happy marriage, I got her a silver pendent of a little tiny phone, ie communication, she got some really good ones too, someone got her lingerie, another person got her a Karma Sutra book.. Good luck with it.. and +1 for the 3 sets of knickers.. LOL at that one..
