I'm wondering where can i buy slender pro by nutrition x (in the Limerick area) as i've tried many healthfood stores but no luck so far. Is it available online? If so, how long does it take for delivery?

    Thanks,
    Lola

Not much help to you, but I saw it in NutriCentre in South William Street in Dublin.

    What's so special about it?

    It's marketed towards women.

It won't make you all muscley like that whey stuff // joking

    www.nutritionx.ie will deliver I'm sure.

Since they're base in Clare delivery should be quick too :)

Please find me some "whey stuff" that will make me all muscley. Maybe if I get enough muscles, I'll look like I actually get off my bum occasionally.

You do realise I was being sarcastic?
Ah sure you're probably one of those creatine heads anyway, they're steroids don't ya know!

You can order it online from their website, and you'll get a 10% discount if you buy two.

I've just placed my order today (they say that they will same day ship any orders received before 11 am). They've also released the new caramel biscuit twist flavour, so I'm looking forward to trying that.

It's a whey/soy blend with green tea extract. In other words, no magic ingredients, but it tastes good and does what it says on the tin!

There is also some l-carnitine, though I don't know in what concentration.

Ha! I'm cycling hard, lifting hard, eating clean, taking whey and creatine and any other supps that look like they might work, and I still look more like Nigella Lawson than Arnie!

Just got it in the post today, ordered it yesterday morning so very speedy delivery!

Can anyone advise me as to when is the best time of day to take it i.e. before/after exercise or as a snack? I presume once a day is enough?

Depends what you want to achieve. I'm guessing that based on the name of it you want to lose some weight. :) Once a day is probably enough if your diet is already decent.

Post workout, some carbs and some protein are a good mix (2:1 ratio of carbs to protein and 1g of carbs per kg of bodyweight if I remember correctly).

I like mixing protein in with porridge at brekkie time. Keeps you going for ages and makes for a more balanced breakfast. What flavour did you get?

Yeah you guessed right, weight loss/ toning up.

Got the strawberry flavour, is it better to mix it with milk or water? I'm guessing milk would probably taste better.... One problem I've just noticed now- I've no scoop! Was there meant to be a scoop included in the package? Great!

Strawberry is like 10x better with milk IMO. Slimline milk is fine. Have you a shaker?

As g'em says, it's probably in there somewhere.

I'm intrigued by these rave reviews I'm reading of Slender Pro! Had never heard of it before. Is it only intended for those doing really hard-core working out, with the goal of building muscle, or would it be useful for someone like me, who's looking to lose a stone and tone up my flabby bits? Am on weight watchers and going to the gym 2-3 times a week, where I do cardio for 30-40 mins and light weights for 15 mins. I'm also gonna start yoga this week, once a week for an hour and a half.

It's marketed to women, but personally I think you'd be better with the ordinary whey powder you can buy in Holland & Barret, less added sugar! Bodybuilders love whey powder, but it's very handy for ordinary dieters as well. You can make a good meal replacement shake with it, or you can use it as a replacement for flour in a lot of recipes.

There are a lot of studies which show that a very reliable predictor of the long term success of a diet is the amount of protein in it. Basically, the more protein in your diet, the more likely you are to lose the weight and keep it off. Plus, protein tends to fill you up better than carbs.

If you are going for the H&B whey, get the vanilla or chocolate flavour. The banana and berry ones have a bit of an aftertaste. Vanilla goes into everything and you can't beat chocolate.

By the way, forget the light weights. Lift heavy and you'll see better results. I promise, you'll look toned, not muscular. Do squats, deadlifts and bench presses. Don't waste your time on those stupid inner thigh machines.

True, Slender Pro has 6g of sugar per 100g whereas H & B has 4.8g. However, Slender Pro also has 75.6g protein per 100g compared to 71.5g protein in H & B and only 2g fat (0.8g saturates) compared to 8.3g fat (3g saturates) in H & B. Plus in Slender Pro you have the added benefit of Green Tea extract (to further speed the metabolism) and L-carnitine (to encourage fatty acid metabolism).

At the end of the day it's a much of a muchesness, but hand on heart I'll say I've found it easier to lose fat when I've been taking Slender Pro over taking regular whey.

I can't make up my mind between pro matrix and slender pro tbh: both have the l-carnitine, but the former doesn't have the green tea extract. Is it really worth going for the slender pro for?

Pro-Matrix is also a casein/whey mix whereas Slender Pro is a soy/whey mix. All this really means is that Pro M will tend to have more of a dealyed "time release" effect than SP (casein takes up to 7 hours to digest, whey takes 30mins to an hour). SP also has slightly fewer calories per 100g but the difference is negligible (375 vs 393) and Pro X has slightly more protein. I've found Pro Matrix to be slightly creamier than SP but having used Green Tea extract in the past with success I like using the SP.

The differences are only minor really so if Pro Matrix is cheaper go for it!!

Cool dude - eternal thanks again g'em :D
Think i'll go with the pro matrix as it's a good bit cheaper in the 5lb tub option. I never thought i would actually see the end of my ON 5lb tub but the day has come!

TBH, I'm not entirely mad about the caramel biscuit twist flavour, for some reason I can't quite figure out. It might be a little too sweet for my liking. Vanilla, strawberry and chocolate mint are delicious though.]

I mix mine with some cream and water and add about 2 tblsps of linseed. I have this for breakfast and it really keeps you full until close to lunch.

Another good time to have it would be after a good weights session in the gym.

afaik it's because dudara is low-carbing? milk = lots of sugars, cream = lots of fat :D

ideally you should take it between meals (twice a day) but its a personal choice, some people take it instead of a breakfast (if they don't like eating in the mornings) others take it after they train, others take it between meals. its really a personal choice. i used to take it only after i trained, but now i also take it between meals (instead of snacks) and sometimes for breakfast if i don't have time to eat in the mornings. i find it great.

the chocolate mint is lovely. i make it with water for the lower sugar/fat content but i reckon it'd be even nicer with milk as it has quite a creamy taste to it. i've only tasted the choc mint and the strawberry, out of the two i'd highly recommend the choc mint
