Wolverhamtpton 2.20 A two way shoot out between Machinate and Climate, both are track/distance specialists with Machinate better in the speed ratings. If the horses run to form v the rest, then you could place two insured bets to three places and be near certain of a winner.

Newcastle 2.40 Forager, likes the heavy condtions, this 2m 4f miler will be a tester and this horse all benefits from a decent speed rating and a light schedule.

Newcastle 4.10 Dickie Lewis is another mud-plugger has exellent form and is only threatened by Ryminster who likes it firmer underfoot and might find 3 miles too much.

Forager pulled up, I was watching Attheraces and he was unhappy, the bridle was being tweaked so I decided not to risk it.

The fact he fell the last two times out is a worry! Three in a row?! Otherwise very strong though.

Should not go far wrong there.

    I'm looking at

    Dark Missile, New 3.10
    Jaunty Flight, Chel 3.30,
    Piper Dreamer, New 4.20

Kieran Fallon has put a good word in for PERFECT STRIDE who he has ridden out on the gallops, in the New 3.45. Says the horse is not there to make up the numbers.

    edit PERFECT STRIDE withdrawn.

Trebles are ridiculous in racing. I bet you will be here til Christmas and not land a decent treble!

They are so hard even e/w, but yesterday was a bad one no matter how one was betting - the supposed naps all slept in.

Punchestowns in the 5:35pm at Cheltenham is still 9/4 with Betfred. This is a huge price and I think he'll go off around the 11/8 mark. Looks like an absolute good thing to me, I think Elusive Dream's Aintree form on the flat track is nothing special and he is very exposed. Punchestowns' two wins in England have been hugely impressive and he should pick this one up on his way to the Punchestown festival next week. McCoy takes the ride, the horse travels, jumps, looks like he stays, has lots of scope for imrovement, is fit, comes from a yard in form and has a great turn of foot which blew his rivals away first time out in England. 9/4 is a dream price, lump on at 9/4 and lay off at 6/4 for a free bet on a horse with a huge chance.

I saw that one, could not decide between him and Elusive.

Punchestowns is 6/5 in places now. 13/8 is the best price available.

One horse leaps out today in terms of value. At Leopardstown 3.00 Luxie is 4/1 on PP, easily the class horse of this mile event. Dermot Weld trained with Smullen on board and a 3-1-1 since the new season began. He looks good to make it a hat-trick.

    Mike.

W00t! Luxie by half a lenght.

Dermot Weld has good entries in the next 3 races. An e/w accu might not be a bad idea.

Tian Shan 7/2, Unwritten Rule 5/2, Winchester 5/1.

    Mike.

Good calls Mike65. Backed Luxie earlier and did the accumaltor. 2 winners in it. Unfortunately Unwritten Rule wasn't placed but a nice result anyway

Yep, that was Welds bet result today. Roll on Punchestown :) Must check out the Ruby Walsh rides.

Enough of Punchestown! :D Can't see anything so across to Sandown where there is a quality card

    2:10 bet365 HANDICAP HURDLE - Earth Planet
Ruby Walsh foresook the chance to notch up another few winners at Punchestown to pilot Paul Nicholls stayer. This combo should be a stress-free punt (!)

3.20 bet365 Gold Cup Chase at Sandown - Iris De Balme
Shock winner (unless you were the jockey) on the Scottish National runs and even if 6/1 now looks stingy its worth a punt in a race that puts stamina to the test. There are half a dozen who could win this.

    3:55 bet365 MILE - Medicine Path
Must be the pick, two wins since his return. Peter Chappell-Hyam has only two horse here and little else catches the eye.

    Mike.

    BET365 Gold Cup Chase

Bewleys Berry: Ran a good 5th in National and afterwards, O'Regan said it was just too far for him. This is shorter and onl has to carry 10-4 in this race which is lower than in National.

Royal Auclair: Must go close, only 10-0 to carry for a dour stayer and has run very wwell this season in top class races. Harry Skelton takes 7 off as well which makes 28-1 way too big.

This could be a complete flyer - Ruby Walsh is on Eight Up in the 3.00 at Limerick. Done best work over 10-12 furlongs, this is a 2 miler.

Dunno it could romp home or tire, least the going is good, should help.

I spotted that tip on Fallon's website too although I think it only went up there after the price had been taken (was 11/2 this morning). I got 9/4 only.

Chestnut Annie in the 7:20pm at Cheltenham tonight. If anybody gets the chance to watch the race then do, she's a great horse to watch racing off into a huge lead, she jumps brilliantly and I really like her, she'll always give you a good run for your money, I took the 7/2 tonight.
