PTSD Help

    Hi all,

Basically, I'm looking for anyone with any knowledge of PTSD, or more precisely post-rape trauma. I'm feeling completely and utterly helpless at the moment in dealing with someone who is suffering so badly from this. I need some help/advice and I'm not keen on giving out all the details on here.

The person in question is getting lots of help, but it's not enough and after multiple suicide attempts, I badly need some advice on how to help her. (makes it more difficult that she's not living in Ireland)

Mods, please move as necessary, but I thought PI was the most appropriate forum for this.

    Thanks,

    Smiler

Smiler hun, i would go +1 on the RCC, but also it might be worth you while trying One in Four. Also as well as the message boards on the One in Four site for those who have been abused, there is an 'allies' boards specifically for those are supporting abuse survivors.* Please don't forget to also look after you in all of this. It takes its toll. i hope that both you and your friend get the help and support you need. take care xxx

*note to mods: i would never normally refer or recommend a boardsie to another board, but i think given the nature of it, it is appropriate, please feel free to amend or edit as you see fit, but i think it would be beneficial to the OP. thank u
