I wasn't sure whether to ask this in the Consumer forum or this forum, so sorry if wrong forum.

My brother got me a Wii from Germany and I was wondering if there was anywhere I could get a 3 pin power supply. I emailed nintendo and they said a new one would cost £20.99. I've also looked at ebay but wouldn't be too sure of those ones. I read a few reviews on Amazon of unofficial power supplies and they report them lasting a few months.

And FYI(if recomendations of local shops are given) I'm in Donegal.

Sorry, yeah I meant to say I've been using an adaptor up till now but it comes lose in the adaptor every now and again so the slightest movement would knock the machine off. Guess I may just get a new tighter adaptor.

I got an OEM one from http://www.consolerepairsdublin.com/wii-accessories.html in Dublin.
    Delivered next day. Excellent service.

I got my wii in austria, when i got home i cut the plug head of and put one of ours on it. This may be highly dangerous as theres no earth but the wii has been in use for the past 6 months without exploding :)

Electrical tape and lots of it :D

Something like this would be good:

Thanks for the help. Will look into them. Though the tape idea is sounding good. less expense. :)

My wii is from Germany and I am using a normal adapter that cost €2.99.
I have never had any problem with it coming loose, possibly because Its plugged into one of those 4 plug extension leads and thats flat on the floor rather than into the wall.
No need to go to any extra expense:)

Re-wiring the plug is a good idea. Dont be woried about doing it, its VERY easy.

Buy a plug , or use an old one from something else.

Cut the wii's cable, as close to its current plug as possible

    Split the grey cable open

There will be 2 or 3 wires: Brown (live L) , blue (neutral N) and posibbly green & yellow (earth E)

peel a small bit off each of the cable to reveal the copper.

Open your new plug up, make sure you have a fuse for it (3amp one is ideal, they'll all work but wont all protect your wii like it should)

Green & yellow goes to the top pin

Blue goes to the pin to the left

Brown goes to the one on the right (the one with the fuse attached to it.)

Screw them in firmly, but you dont need to over tighten

Screw back up and your good to go:)

Forgot to mention earlier that the adapter I am using is not one of those flat ones people use for shavers/electric toothbrushes. Its a sort of sunken one where the pins go down into it so it will never fall out unlike the flat ones .
Re wiring the plug is always a good option but if you dont want to interfere with it , look out for ones of those adapters as they are not that expensive.
