I have this violin that I got from my Grandad when he died, and he got it from his mother, so I'm told its over 100 years old. I'm looking to get it valued, but I don't know where to be honest. Somewhere in the Clare/ Limerick region would be very much ideal. By the way, I've googled the brand but can't find anything on it…

Does it begin with "Stradi" and end with "varius" ?

I'd say a big antique auction house would have someone who deals with musical instruments.

Ah, if you were in Dublin I'd say to go to Charles Byrne Musik Instrumente but I guess not. Maybe you could take a trip up to Dublin?
